Katherine Heigl reveals the ways that growing up living in a white bubble affected the way she raised her adoptive multiracial family. She is the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in an interview recently that -- when it came to skin color -- she didn't care the way she looked when she was younger, but once she talked about her sister's age, who was adoptive to South Korea, she realized how differently society viewed both of both. "I I asked my sister Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner when she was walking around with our parents and a different way when she was out alone without them. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl said to Parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." According to the actor she was angered. But, she was determined to channel that anger towards aiding her adopted daughters. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. 4. together for thirteen years. They adopted their daughter Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide 8 years old who is Black and was adopted in 2012.
