Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and is the only person to be given 10/10 points during an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would be Romania's gymnastics coach. She participated at the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international competition, which was an preolympics junior event for countries in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was named the all-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver at her first senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. In 1976, she was the world's first woman who used a double backwards salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a teenager, when she performed as the figure skating duo of their twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment during her teenage years. Early on, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice by actors.

She was also a two-sport athlete for Brockport and played soccer and lacrosse. Norman was recognized as an outstanding football player in Brockport and she was a player on the defensive side of the ball. Also, she was a great choice-maker when it was time for her to understand the offensive strategies of teams in opposition. The freshman brings many great qualities to Lady Lakers in 2012. Her ability to protect the basketball at a high level and her positive mindset provides her with a major advantage when she begins her first season at Finger Lakes.
